We make basics that are better for bodies + planet.

Family underpins everything at nat’v. It’s the reason Sandy started the whole shebang in the first place, and it's woven into the fabric of everything we do (see what I did there?).

Seeing the world with her ‘mum-goggles’ on was the catalyst to her building a sustainable and ethical brand. It was a way to make a positive impact on her daughter's future; to lead by example and show her that you can choose to be part of the solution.

People say there’s the family you’re born into, and then there’s the family you choose. Well, at nat’v HQ, our family is made up of both, and we wouldn’t want it any other way!

Two Types of Comfort: We designed our undies to make sure your tooshie and your conscience can kick back and relax. No grubby supply chains, no toxins and certainly no wedgies here, thank you very much.

All our basics are made from renewable wood sources using environmentally responsible processes, so they have a minimal footprint on both carbon and water resources.

Sustainability is not an afterthought for us, we are a company with a purpose so you could say sustainability is a ‘beforethought’ (yes, we also make up words.)

So if you like wearing super comfy undies that don’t leave you feeling icky about the who/what/where of how our yarns were spun, nat’v should be right up your alley.

There’s a bit more detail about all that sort of thing over here on a page we rather creatively called Sustainability.

  • All ink used on our packaging products are soy based
  • Our tissue paper is acid free and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)
  • Our mailers are made from certified compostable material

The fashion and textile industry is notoriously resource heavy, with complicated, exploitative supply chains. That’s why transparency is vitally important to us and  we rigorously test our supply chain partners to ensure there is zero tolerance for child labour, discrimination, corruption, bribery, animal cruelty or unsafe working conditions.

Read more about our supply chain and company structure here.

“As I have learnt from this journey, becoming sustainable is not always easy. But that has given me more determination to continue to get better – to find more like-minded partners in the supply chain and deliver everyday products with as little carbon, waste and water footprint as possible.”

  • Sandy Ronalds, Founder

Sandy lives on the Gold Coast with her rad husband, their super cool kid, a rambunctious pup and the most regalist of all the cats in the whole wide world.

After years of working in business, she couldn’t unsee the amount of waste that goes into the everyday products we buy - especially those that go on, and near, your skin. She decided that she could either be complicit, or she could get creative. When things have just always been done a certain way, people can forget to question whether there is a better way to do them. She wanted to find better ways to do things.

So why an underwear brand?

Apparel is one of the biggest culprits when it comes to unethical and unsustainable practices. Some of it fo’ sho can be avoided (looking at you, fast fashion); but even the most eco-conscious of us aren’t about to start running around with no knickers on (at least not every day) and it’s probably the least likely category of clothing we’re gonna buy second hand - cue lightbulb-moment-montage-scene as Sandy realises “this is a space I could really make an impact!”

Challenge Accepted!

First she would need to find super smarty-pants people doing cool things with textiles. There’s sssooooo many resources used in textile fabrication that this was a serious head scratcher of a decision. Lucky for us, Sandy did all the legwork and we just get to reap the benefits of the super sustainable and exquisitely soft fabric she decided was the perfect fit for nat’v.

Cutting Fabric, Not Corners

Now, another thing you should know about Sandy; she really likes nice things. Not in a spoiled Princess kind of a way…. More of a ‘quality over quantity’ sorta way.

She likes food that makes you swoon before you’ve even tasted it, she likes boots that make you feel like a superhero when you put them on, and she likes to hang out on the finer side of the wine menu. Hell, if she’s gonna do something, she’s gonna do it right.

So, as important as it was to find the most sustainable and ethically made fabric she could, it was just as important that these undies would be the most goshdarn comfiest things your booty would ever have the pleasure of. They had to be Sandy-Standard.

Just Keep Striving, Just Keep Striving...

We love our basics range and we truly hope you do too. We want you to feel like you’ve finally found your perfect undies when you have your first ‘nat’v moment’. And we really, really want you to keep feeling good about your choice to support our brand, even after you’ve taken them off.
